Hello, I have been using open office for years with great results. I just purchased a new laptop running Windows 11, 64-bit. I went to the Apache site> installation area, and only see Windows, 32-bit Version offered under the drop down under: Select your favorite operating system, language and version:
Does this mean I should take Windows 32 bit for the open office version to install even though I am running 64-bit?
Thank you for your help
Dan

OpenOffice 4.1.16 on Windows 11
Re: Installation Question
A Windows 64 bit is in development, but no release date yet; the 32 bit should run OK on Windows 64.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.16 on Xubuntu 24.04.4 LTS

Re: Installation Question
Ok, thank you very much for your quick reply.
Re: Installation Question
Note that some parts of AOO depend on the presence of a Java runtime engine. By default, on a 64-bit system Java will be downloaded and installed for 64-bit operation. You need to manually select 32-bit version for download, install, and then connect it to your AOO install.
For more info to assess whether you will need Java for your use of the suite, and if so, links to help you accomplish what you need, see this link.

Try the LibreOffice. It has 64 bit version.
