How do i make a calendar in writer?

Writer's ability to do calculations is very limited. If you just need one month, you can create a table and type in the dates. If you want to create a month's calendar automatically, given the year and month, or create a calendar for a full year, you can create the calendar in Calc and embed the Calc OLE object into your Writer document. There are plenty of topics in the Calc forum about calendars. Read about pasting;cell ranges from spreadsheets in the Writer help.

OpenOffice templates might have suitable templates for you.

How much of a calendar? A week, a month, a year, a century? And what interval - days, weeks, months, years? How big an area for each entry?

to make a yearly printed calendar planner.

You possibly could make a one month page to your liking and Copy/Paste it into OpenOffice.

Or make a 31 line table and enter the days/dates by hand.
