Hello,
I think I had this problem with previous versions but since I'm running 4.1.16 now I'll just from here.
I am running Windows 11, OS build 26200.7705. All things to consider - yes, I may have Microsoft Edge open with several or a bunch of tabs open. I may have 2 or 3 OpenOffice documents open also. I am writing in a new OpenOffice document and it will crash. Yes, I write some then Save it. Write some more, Save it. Somewhere in there I will Save it and nothing will happen for a brief moment then documents disappear and I get the notice OpenOffice has crashed. I restart the computer, open OpenOffice and it will put up the window that it has to recover some documents. Sometimes I have been concentrating on what I was writing and have input a lot when I remember to Save it. At those times I will "lose" what I've written. MOST times I have not written much when it crashes so I've only lost a little. The most recent time today, it crashed just after a small change then a Save. When everything came back up I found my change had been saved and I didn't lose anything!
I'm open to any suggestions as to what I need to do to avoid this issue.
Thank you for your assistance!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
You may have better luck with LibreOffice. It is under much more active development and benefits from a better integration with new systems. See [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information.
You can at least test a portable version to make sure there is an improvement.

LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.
