Moving Icons

How do I move an icon from one toolbar to another?

Tools > Customize > Toolbars

You can't directly move a button (icon), but you can add it one place and delete it from the other.

The icon is on a toolbar placed by an extension. The toolbar is not listed in the customize toolbar dialog.

In that case it's under control of the extension, not the main program. Plucking it out of the extension would mean having to find a way to copy out all the code that creates and supports that particular tool, and all the interactions (errors, etc.) that go along with it. It's more complicated than just moving an icon from one place to another.
