[Solved] Install presentation module of AOO

Post by EricPete1960 »

This may be an extremely simple answer, but I need to know how to install OO Presentations. It is greyed out when I open up the icon for OO. I've tried searching but to no avail. I've also reinstalled OO but it did not add Presentations. Appreciate any assistance. TIA!

The presentation application of OpenOffice is called Impress. From where did you download the version of OpenOffice you are trying to use? Best to download only from
https://www.openoffice.org/download
as it will direct you.

Completely remove your existing OpenOffice application. Removing an application is a Windows task. I run MacOS and I can't help with Windows tasks. After you have completely removed OpenOffice, download the current version using RoryOF's link above and install that, following the procedures in the Installation Guides link on that page.

OpenOffice is a set of interconnected components, Writer, Calc, Impress, etc. Do not attempt to install a subset of them. Install everything, even ones you don't plan to use now. Trying to install a subset won't save any significant disk space, and will set you up for trouble down the line.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.
