Hello, I'm using Open Office 4.1.7 on Windows 11. I'm trying to help a family friend upload their book to Kindle. As I was editing, I noticed a few of these huge paragraph breaks (I'm guessing?) that I cannot delete. If I try to delete or backspace them, it'll either push all the text under the chapter name to the next page and leave an even bigger space or it'll get rid of the title.
I have tried checking for a frame/object, I've tried using using find and replace by searching ^$ and replacing it with a space, but it doesn't see the spots I'm talking about, and I've tried looking for sections and that's not it.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Re: Paragraph break won't go away
Look at the fine tuning of the paragraph style definitions: Text Flow tab, and turn off all the Options to see if that helps.

Re: Paragraph break won't go away
Screenshots don't help - they show the problem, not the cause. You can upload part of the document, first use a regular expression to anonymize the text - replace each letter by an x.
One possible cause is that on the Text flow tab of the paragraph style or format paragraph dialog box, the option Keep with next paragraph is selected. That might then force paragraphs to the next page.

Re: Paragraph break won't go away
Do you mean the empty paragraphs in the text body below and above of the title paragraph??
Do you mean the empty paragraphs in the Header?
Do you mean the huge pilcrow at the end of the title?
(Paragraph breaks are non-printing characters. They will not be appeared in the target file format: in the PDF or other. And you can hide them by usage menu item:
View - Non-printing characters)
Or do you mean the huge empty area on the first page belowe the parapgraph?
