I draw two rectangles, each with dimension height 7 mm and width 15 mm.
In one rectangle I insert one line with text which must horizontally and vertically centered with respect to that rectangle. The other rectangle is filled with two lines of smaller text, also centered horizontally and vertically. Then I wish to make each rectangle as a group, so that I can copy this rectangle with all properties and paste it. I suppose that I can adjust the resolution at H=15 mm and V=7 mm in Extra-Options-Raster to set , to let stick all copied boxes together.
How can I manage that. I could not manage to select the rectangle together with the textbox to center them to each other.
Apologized, I found meanwhile to center the text in the rectangle. But when I change the textlength in a copied rectangle then I have to align something again.
And when the textbox is wider than the rectangle then the alignment changes also w.r.t. the other rectangles. Somewhat complex for me.

Re: Rectangle as box with centered text
Why don't you enter the text directly into the rectangle?
Else create align the textbox to the rectangle dimensions and group them.
Not sure what is your problem exactly.
Can you upload a sample file showing what is wrong (see How to attach a document here)?

Re: Rectangle as box with centered text
My apologizes for my somewhat vague description.
I try making a mapstructure existing of textboxes (rectangle with text in it) of 1,5 cm width and 0,7 cm height..
These textboxes are vertically connected to each other to form columns.
The text in the textbox must be centered horizontally as well as vertically.
I am thinking to create an empty box with a space in the center of the box (e.g. where I can click once with the mouse)
to allow adding text that expands to the left/right with as final result that the text is always centered.
This is what I tried to create.
p.s. I had a screendump as attachment available but not linked to an URL
I hope the text is a bit more clear now.

Re: Rectangle as box with centered text
A dummy file would be clearer.
