File is a truncated zip archive. Probably nothing there.

This may be because computer crashed, or was closed down too hastily before file housekeeping was complete. Or file was worked on a USB device which was removed without regard for USB removal protocols.

Try an undelete utility to see if there might be a temporary file with some or all of content.

Hi - thanks for answering, but what do you mean by “ undelete utility”?

Also called file recovery. It's software to find files that have been deleted by the user, but may still sit on the hard drive. Windows has one, see https://www.howtogeek.com/680458/how-to ... indows-10/ on how to use it (I didn't test it). Some users here recommend recuva.

The signature of @igrona only shows MS software.

The absurd filename "CHR ind & ud-HRK-PC1 (2).ods" tells me
- The person who created the original is very inexperienced and/or disregards good practice.
- @ igrona didn't create the file, but downloaded it (three times).

The problem will be caused on a different system by any unknown person using any unknown software.
I would suggest to contact the provider of that .ods file, and ask them for a correct replacement.
If @igrona actually created the file using Office 365 the culprit should be obvious (MS).
LibreOffice 25.2.1 tried a repair and presented a result without any content.
It claimed there are disabled macros - but there aren't any.

@Lupp: I'm not sure why @igrona (the correct sentence is in fact @jgrona) shows "MS software".
But you are perfectly right, that I'm not the user of the file, and you can say that is an unexperienced user who name it. You could say that it's the systems fault if the name is wrong, never the user :-)

Sorry concerning "igrona". My eyes aren't still perfect.

For your account in this forum a "Signature" was created or edited wich tells "Office 365 on Win 11" is the used software.

OK
But DO YOU KNOW by whom and with what software the file you downloaded was created or last edited/stored?
If so: Ask them for a usable replacement.
Otherwise: No remedy.

BTW: An empty but correct ".ods" stored by LibreOffice has >9 KiB.

It seems so.
Probably nothing of interest/value there.

"easy" could be a matter of judgment and experience. :-)

The easiest way to got that is to use the ODF repair tool.

Once you get the repaired file (Open ⟶ Analyze ⟶ Extract ⟶ Repair), let LibreOffice repair it and then save the file.
