[Solved] Unable to open Excel XLSX file

Having just downloaded Apache OpenOffice as a potential replacement for Microsoft Office I am very disappointed that it is unable to open my existing Excel files. I tried 3 different files with sizes of 4.2MB, 3.56MB & 2.41MB. None would open.

Try the LibreOffice. It has higher compatibility with the foreingn file type documents.

The file size limit is 128KiB in this forum for the attachments, therefore you can share one of them on some free file sharing service.

How are you trying to open the files? What happens when you do this; e.g. is there an error?

Am trying to open them using the file open icon. No error messages, but status bar not moving past a point, then nothing. Left for >30 minutes, no progress.
