Hi!
I have a problem with .rtf files that is associated with an app which I use. This app is creating a receipt that is created in .rtf format. I installed Libre office to switch to it, since WordPad is permamently deleted from Windows. This app works like this - it creates .rtf file which is automatically sent to printer.
I am testing it using Microsoft Print to PDF tool to see how this receipt looks like. I have a config file, which is basically a blank page with margins set - all of them set to 5cm. Previously on Wordpad it worked like a charm, but with Libre office it generates the file, but there is a lot of spacing on the right side. It looks like on Libre office it is automatically moved to the left side and there is a big margin.
My question is - is there any way to fix this? Unfortunately, I cannot share those files here.
Sadly, with Windows 11 2H24 there is no way to recover wordpad, as after manually pasting exe file, Wordpad is not executing macro(file is not being sent to printer) and I would like to use Libre office as daily driver.

Re: Issue with rtf file formatting
As a workaround for now, till you get the problem fixed with LibreOffice, you should know that you can resurrect Wordpad on 24H2. Lots of guides on the net: install wordpad to windows 24h2 All you need is access to a PC that is pre-Windows-24H2 so that you can grab the necessary files and folder. If you don't have access to a physical PC then maybe you have old system backup image files that you can extract the files and folder from.
Whether following that route will allow automated 'send to printer' I do not know, but it's worth a try anyway.

Hello, thank you for your response but unfortunately it does not work like this - I tried it already - please read the last sentence, I wrote that it is not automatically sent to printer.

Re: Issue with rtf file formatting
Apologies for misinterpreting what you were saying. In LibreOffice enable the setting that allows viewing of Formatting Aids. So in Writer go, (menu) Tools > Options... > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids > Display Formatting and enable the settings that allow viewing of non-printing characters. Then click the Apply button.
Now in your receipt document see if there are hard-line breaks — they show as a 'bent-arrow' character — that might be causing the issue.

Re: Issue with rtf file formatting
Hi, after setting this option unfortunately it stays the same. Does this have something in common in terms of paper size that is inside the printer? 80mm. Maybe the reason is to set the paper size for each printer in file? Is there any way to do this?

Re: Issue with rtf file formatting
Sorry, I don't know how to deal with the issue in LibreOffice. Have you tried in Explorer just right clicking on the .rtf file and selecting Print?

Have you tried exporting to pdf from LibreOffice instead of the Print to PDF tool?
