OpenOffice has supported more than a million rows in a spreadsheet version 3.3 in since 2011.

Create an empty shreadsheet then use Insert → Sheet from file. Your success will depend on how your records are formatted. Read this tutorial. You are likely to have trouble if you just accept all of the defaults in the Text Import dialog. At a minimum, you probably should activate Detect Special Numbers, but you really should set the correct properties for each data field if you want the import to be successful.
[Tutorial] Text to Columns

If you need any additional assistance attach a sample of the records you're importing (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the data itself). I will not help further unless you attach a sample. We probably only need to see a couple of dozen records. Be sure to indicate the exact problem you need help with because we don't know what you are expecting to have in your spreadsheet.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.
