[Dropped] Help with a doubling value

Post by Barry G »

Hello again. Thank you all for helping me with my first issue.

This is probably easy for you. Not for me!

I wish to double the QUANTITY column IF there is more than one of the same UNITs installed.

The list I'm creating is a MASTER list of all parts, but some UNITs will not be used in every installation.

The doubling of the QUANTITY needs to be specific to the UNIT description.

The Master list when finished will be sorted by LIFE value, so UNIT parts will not always be in the same block as LIFE changes for each item.

There is a description in the sample i'm sending.

Thank you in advance!

I would create pairs of cells with the unit name in one cell and 1 by default in second cell for each unit that would represent the number of each unit. The number of unit would be changed by the user.
Then change the name of the F column in "Qty per unit" and add a new column right of it for actual Qty, that multiplies the cell on its left by the number of units of the relevant name. You need a formula to compare the unit name for that.
