[Solved] Calc won't honor any formulae

Post by kurttappe »

I'm working on a spreadsheet in Calc. I'm trying to reference other cell values. But Calc won't honor any formae or references. Nothing I enter starting with equals gets evaluated. It stays as what I type. So if I enter =(6+5) the cell displays =(6+5) not 11. If I enter =A5 I get =A5, not the value in A5. I've never had this problem in any other spreadsheet so I'm confused as to why Calc has suddenly stopped honoring the equals sign to indicate I'm either entering a formula or a reference. Thanks for any ideas.

Solved. It was twofold. It wasn't just that I had to reset the cells to default formatting, but then also had to edit then unedit the formulae for them to get re-evaluated. Neither one alone would do it. I hope this helps someone else with the same issue.
