[Solved] Buttons black on dark blue are unreadable «Q47»

I have been using open office and Apache for many years now without major problems however recently the buttons have become unreadable. for example when I click on ;saveas; i see 3 rectangles dark blue with black writing to choose from . I imagine one is to save one is to discard and I don't know what the third one is. I have no idea which is which so I choose a random not a very good way to proceed . I tried many solutions suggested in a forum in 2017 but none of them work for me. I have changed the o/s preferences on the display to increase contrast but that just makes everything unreadable
I am running recently (30 JUly 2024) updated open office and separatley Apache., on MacOS monterey 12.7.1.
The same problem occurs on both calc and writer and seems to be whenever I need to make a choice ( including op noffice preferences)
Please help or suggest another office suite which does not experience this problem.

Using Apache OPen Office the buttons suddenly became unreadable. This week they were changed to black text on dark blue background., After trying unsuccessfully a number of different options suggested on the forum I was beginning to think I needed to abandon open office and try something else. However I have now changed from Apache open office to Libre office and the problem seems to have been solved! My heartfelt thanks to whoever suggested it!
