[Solved] Large gray "page xx" on each sheet

I have this only in one file, so I know it should be a setting.

On each sheet is a light gray "page XX" .. this is similar to when there is a "copy" put on papers to show they aren't the originals.

It's full blown, centered on the sheets.

I looked under "view" but there is nothing about shadows ( that's the only thing I could find in a google search).

Try turning off the menu item View -> Page Break View.

The problem sounds as if the pages are Images (photos?), and /Tools /Options /OpenOffice Writer /View : Display Graphics and objects is unchecked.

Later: on further contemplation - perhaps the pages are shown in very large scale and what is being seen is the Page Number field, with /View /Field Shadings turned on. If this might be the case, turn off /View /Field Shadings and the grey should disappear. To reduce the page display scale use /View Zoom or pull slider at bottom right of OpenOffice window to 100%
