[Solved] Writer locks up when using Copy/Paste

Hi all. I just got a new laptop running Windows 11, and am using OpenOffice 4.1.15. I did search for answers, but similar posts are from quite a few years ago. I was hoping this might be a new problem with Windows 11. Working in the same document, any copy/paste function locks the program up. Highlight, hit "copy" and it's locked. Have to shut down and retrieve the document. Every time. Any fixes for this? Thank you for your time, Joyce

This problem seems to also occur with LibreOffice/Win 11.

LibreOffice is new for me; didn't know about it until now. I am a decades long WordPerfect user which now won't initialize on this Windows 11 computer. I've always had OpenOffice as a backup app. Got LibreOffice installed just now, opened an odt doc, and lo and behold, it will copy and paste without a hitch. This may be my answer. Next up will be to try the spreadsheet. I also dumped Quickbooks after decades of use and had moved my deductibles to the OpenOffice app, but of course, there is no copying and pasting in that one either. LibreOffice is looking very promising. It's a new world. May be looking for a LibreOffice forum here directly! Will follow up with "solved" once I explore the spreadsheet.

Thanks for all the help. I turned off "suggested actions" in clipboard options, and that did indeed seem to fix the problem in OO. Also downloaded LibreOffice and am quite pleased with it. I now have choices that actually work! Solved!! Thanks again.
