Blurry text when using OO on Mac (OS 12.7.5). Currently use all the temporary fixes - highlighting text, increasing/decreasing text size etc. Note the screenshot attached of light gray right-facing triangles that sometimes appear at same time as blurry text. Is that a hint as to the cause of the problem?

Re: Blurry text
Please search first before posting.
Search in Mac OSX forum found 24 matches: blurry
This could be a display or graphics problem. You may have more success with an Apple forum.

Re: Blurry text
Blurry text problem started months ago. Would like to know what suddenly triggered blurry text, after smooth sailing with OO writer for years.
Please note odd small triangular icons outside of text boundaries-most appear as outlines, sometimes as black.
No change had been made to OO or MacBook Pro software (macOS Monterey version 12.7.5).
I can temporarily correct blurry text by highlighting it, increasing or decreasing type size, or pressing return key.
Apologies if 3 attachments do not appear. Pressed "Attachments" tab then selected small (under 128kb) individual .png file and pressed "Place inline".

Re: Blurry text and ◀|▶ symbols
I was able to reproduce that problem if I enable OpenOffice → Preferences → OpenOffice Writer → Formatting Aids → Direct Cursor. Disable that option and leave it off on MacOS. I do not experience the problem when the option is disabled. Options are set with OpenOffice → Preferences on a Mac, Tools → Options on other platforms.
You didn't say what you tried, but it didn't include the idea in [Solved] Help blurred texts and image to disable Direct Cursor. A link to that topic was in the May 28 list of 24 topics about blurry text that I gave you. Actually, it was the most recent one, excluding yours.

Re: Blurry text and ◀|▶ symbols
Thanks to Mr. Programmer, blurry text with random ◀|▶ symbols solved by turning off Direct Cursor.
