I open a new text document, and the spell check is not working.
I have had this question SOLVED once before, but why has it disappeared again? Do I have to keep redoing the same thing? That's very frustrating.

OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Windows 10 Pro. Folk like you helping folk like me, makes the world an easier place to be.

The earlier suggestion to you here will probably not survive a Windows upgrade, i.e. from 10 to 11. Have you upgraded Windows, or purchased a newer computer?
If it has been working for you for ten years, and has just recently stopped working, think about what changes may have been made to your computer recently.

I hate this damn computer, I wish that I could sell it.
It won't do what I want it to, Only what I tell it.

No, I haven't upgraded anything but maybe Open Office did?

OpenOffice doesn't touch the file(s) in %programdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Templates; it may be that some Windows update has replaced the file. Check the properties, modification date and content of the current file to see if it is different from the one you added years ago.

Re: Spell check has gone away again
Thanks, I just realised it WAS years ago, I feel like it was only last year. So yes, maybe upgrades, or I redid the process last year. I'll try, thanks,

Got it, thanks! It was last done 2020, so I wonder why it has glitched again?
