[Solved] Missing margins
Is it normal for margins to disappear with large text? If not can someone tell me how to fix it without having to make my text smaller.

Re: missing margins
Can you upload a sample Writer file that shows the problem, and perhaps explain a little more what you mean by "missing margins"?

Re: Missing margins
I uploaded the image but as I type the margin above my text disappears. You can still see the margins on the left and right side of the text, just not above the text.

Re: Missing margins
Please upload a real, ODF type sample file here. Then we will able to examine the applied Styles and manual formatting properties of the line.
Do you want to print the margin lines? (The margin lines are virtual helper lines only, they will not be appeared in the printed or in the exported PDF version. If you want printed lines then you must set real lines for the page.)

Re: Missing margins
Have you applied paragraph or character background color (white)?

Re: Missing margins
No I haven't changed anything. It is only doing this if I use a larger font size.

Re: Missing margins
I can't reproduce this; I opened a new Writer document, typed some random words, set font size to 60 pt., centred the paragraph and added a new paragraph.
I don't know what font you have used - perhaps that may be part of the problem? We can't determine anything from your image apart from the fact the top page border marker does not display. This seems to be a minor display issue, which won't affect printing as the page margins are not printed.
As has previously been mentioned, an actual Writer file, not a picture, may be helpful in resolving this.

Re: Missing margins
I can get that to happen when I set text using a separate white background to that text; it is merely a display artifact. On a white page it should not be necessary to specify a background colour to the text.

Re: Missing margins
I just started a whole new document and it's not doing it now. It must have been something that I did. Thanks for all of the help, I appreciate it.

Re: Missing margins
If you can upload the actual troublesome document (not an image), we might be able to ascertain what exactly caused your problem.

Re: Missing margins
Your font colour is pink and the background is set to White; select the text in question, set background to "No Fill" in /Format /Character : Background tab, and all should be well.
However, this is merely a display artifact and should not affect a printout.
