[Solved] Changes to text in DOCX file are blue

Post by ncoomber1961 »

Hi,

I have a proof-editor who has returned my book ODT file I sent him as a Docx window file. This opens okay in Open Office however, When I try to edit the text, the text is blue and no matter what I do I can't seem to change it to black text. For reasons unknown to me.

Has anyone any Ideas please.

Regards

Edit: Changed subject, was Convert .docx file to .odt Help required please

Hi and welcome to the forum!

It may be the Record change feature that is activated. Look at the menu Edit > Track changes (at least in LibreOffice). Turn it off if it is on. You can also accept/reject the changes if any have been made.

Note that LibreOffice offers a better compatibility with MS Office formats (if you still want to use the .docx format, which is not recommended however). See [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the 🖉 button if your issue has been fixed.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.
