Hello to everyone,
at first I would like to apologize for my lacking proficiency in the english language, its not my native one, but I will try my best. Moreover I am experiencing quite a stressfull time now, so please forgive all my mistakes, which I will surely make.
I have a very, very big problem, and I beg you to help me. I was working on two tremendously important odt files today, before having a system crash, some malfunction of my graphic drivers I presume. I think I managed to save the two files properly before the crash however. After restarting my pc (or should I better say, it restarted by itself), I made an attempt to start those two files mentioned above, without suspecting anything being wrong. Problem is, that after launching those files, I dont see any text. Openoffice just asks me, in what language and textformat I would like to start those files, and after selecting the default setting, it starts an shows me pages of weirdly formated letters. I cant recognize or read anything.
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME ? I am really desperate. My life depends on those files. I really mean it. Any advice, would be greatly appreciated from my side. Really anything.
If you want to take a look at those files, here's a googledrive link:

edit: I tried to open the files in the newest libreoffice, it says, that these files are broken/corrupted and cannot be repaired...

Re: Broken File - HELP !!!
Both files are damaged beyond recovery. Waste no time with them - they are irrecoverable.
See the methods in this tutorial to try and find what may be on the disk drive.

Re: Broken File - HELP !!!
Thank you very much for the answer.
I've thoroughly searched the backup folder in my openoffice folder/profile. It saved a version of the first file from approximately half a year ego, which isnt of great help for me. However I was able to find a more uptodate version of that same file, in that very same folder, through Wondershare Recoverit, it is 3 days old, and in odt format, so I will recover it as soon as I am done with scanning the whole partition.
I've also searched through the main temp folder in my system on "c-username-appdata-local-temp" but only with little to no succes. The majority of the folders there are empty. There are two temp files from today in there, but as I tried to open them with winrar/notepad, it stated that they are also damaged/corrupted.
edit: Wondering why there's no backup file (or temp file) of the second "master" file, and only the first. My only hope is finding some deleted version through recoverit...
edi2: I was able to recover the Autorecovery file (the odt_0 file) from the backup folder with Recoverit, although is also seems to be broken. It opens as intended, but after that I still get this peculiar looking text, which I cannot decipher. This is quite strange, since it tells me it was last modified four days ego, so some time before the crash. Since its an older verison of the file, it should work properly, yet it does not. Really strange. I uploaded the odt_0 file to googledrive, in case you would feel inclined to inspect it...
Well I feel quie hopeless now, but better go back to work, maybe I manage to recover something form my own memory...

Re: Broken File
It won't help you now but you might consider installing the Timestamped backup extension, which will allow you to make multiple, timestamped backups of your document. Note that this must be invoked separately from your normal Save.

Re: Broken File
You should save a backup off your computer regularly - your computer is bound to fail at some point. Depending how important or how much work you put in, multiple backups/locations. External drive plus cloud storage perhaps...

Re: Broken File
Thank you all for the very insightful replies. I guess you are right, I should have made some copies on external devices, it would prevent such things from happening.
I am working intensively now on reconstructing those texts, I've made some solid progress already, but it will be a long, bumpy road.
I'm deeply indebted to all of you, who took their time to read my messanges and put some thought into it.
