Formatting
Formatting
I tried to use the format assignment tool (the brush icon) in Writer. Normally, while formatting normal text, it works, but I realized, that it isn't possible to use this tool when text is entered in a text-box which is used while working with graphical objects. Also it isn't possible to use the icons to increase or decrease the font size stepwise which is only possible in normal text formating. Why are these two tools not available if text is entered in text boxes, but the tool to change the font size by changing the value is possible? Please help.
Re: Formatting
I'm not sure what you're referring to here. A text-box used while working with graphical objects? Are you talking about text entered into an AutoShape item, or are you referring to captions, or something else?Zacho wrote:I tried to use the format assignment tool (the brush icon) in Writer. Re: Formatting
Yes I mean text entered in an AutoShape item. Do you know if it is possible to use the format mapping (brush icon)?
Re: Formatting
No, I'm sorry to say it isn't. In an AutoShape, styles aren't available... it uses plain text only.Zacho wrote:Yes I mean text entered in an AutoShape item. Do you know if it is possible to use the format mapping (brush icon)?
Are you using rectangular AutoShapes? You could use a text frame instead. If you're using other shapes, such as circles or polygons or other non-rectangular items, you could draw the shape and position a text frame over it, formatted to be transparent with no background and with any paragraph style you want.
Does that help?
Cheers!
