Organizing Formats in Format List

When you open Formatting in Calc the window shows two boxes. One is marked Category and the other Format. When selecting Date/Time there are way too many defaults that I have never used, and have to wade through to select the ones I do. Is there some way to either change the hierarchy so the most frequently used formats are at the top of the list, or remove the default formats that are never used? It seems to me that even if they are removed, in the odd chance I should need or want them later, they can always be formatted by me. In the meantime, there will be less clutter.

After all these years you still ignore templates and styles?

I use templates and styles to create other spreadsheets based on the one master. That way if I find a font that is easier to read, I only need to change the font on the master spreadsheet and all the others are updated. Besides I don’t use databases, smart phones, or Wi-Fi. I do however like Unicode and using real quotes instead of ASCII quotes. I still play text games. I also don’t have a television, or a car. What of it? I function just fine usually. The only reason I’m still using OpenOffice is because there is no Unicode version of Works, with its flat file database.
As for styles, I gave up on that a long time ago. Everything went kaput when my stylized spreadsheets lost connection with the master. Since then I just format everything on the fly. Maybe someday I will get around to recreating the other spreadsheets, but it’s time-consuming and in the end is no more functional than not using styles and formatting. Actually most of the clutter is from old styles that I created and don’t use anymore.

Use the Styles. You can not delete/hide/filter the default (built-in) formatting properties.

But you can filter the STYLE list to the Used Styles.

Yeah, and I can go through all of that again just to have it become orphaned like the last time.
