Hi all
Is there any way that I can have Impress and Writer be a little be cleverer when I copy a formula from Writer in to Impress or vice-versa, such that the size of the formula is automatically adjusted to meet the standard sizing in each of those programs?
For example, in my Writer document, I have formulae which use a font size of 12 pt, but in Impress I use a font size of 28 pt. When I copy a formula from Writer and paste it into Impress, the for size for the Math object needs to be automatically scaled, or else the formula is way too small. Likewise vice versa: copying to Writer I get formulae that are way too big.
Any way to fix this? Or should I report a bug?
Cheers
JP

Math is not as developed as the rest of the suite, and cannot use styles. For example, if you need to do a global change on many formulas, you need to edit them one by one. This apply to font size too.
With styles your problem would have an easy solution, but they are not implemented on Math. I'm sure there is an old issue asking for the use of styles on Math.
There are two types of people: those who believe that there are two types of people and those who do not.

I believe it has been reported; you may want to follow up on that. When I copy a formula from Writer and paste it into Impress, the for size for the Math object needs to be automatically scaled, or else the formula is way too small.
There is a workaround (of sorts).
After you paste the formula into Impress, select it and do Format > Position and Size > Position and Size > Protect > Size: NO (unchecked). After that, you can resize the formula any way you like by dragging the green handles. It remains a formula; you can edit as usual. Hold the Shift key down when you drag to preserve the aspect and prevent distortion.
