Hello,
When I click on an .odt document, I keep getting the attached window coming up, saying that I need to update OpenOffice. When I click the update button, the update process starts, but then tells me I have the most recent version, which I already knew.
If I click the 'Later' button, then OpenOffice opens and runs fine.
How can I stop this window from popping up every time?
This is on a MacBook Air, Big Sur 11.2.2
Thank you,
John

Re: Still getting update notifications for OO?
Turn off check for updates? Preferences | OpenOffice and then look around for Online Updates - not sure where it is on Mac but on other OS it is under Tools | Options | OpenOffice | Online Update.
Note again Tools | Options is replaced on Mac by Preferences | OpenOffice.
You might find it an interesting and educational exercise to look through all the options/ preferences available to you; it may save you time having to ask questions and await responses. The Help button on the various option pages will also provide useful information.

This message is misleading. It pops up when the document has been modified with LibreOffice which has a higher version number. LibreOffice is the new OpenOffice.

Re: Still getting update notifications for OO?
LO is now saving documents using the OpenDocument Format version 1.3 by default instead of version 1.2. The message will appear when AOO opens a document saved using the OpenDocument Format version 1.3.

Re: Still getting update notifications for OO?
Ok, this was 'resolved' for me by resolving another issue: I've now set up my computer so that when I click on an .odt or .docx document, they automatically open in LibreOffice.
Thanks for the replies.
