[Solved] New Install on OS 10.14.6, "Fatal Error"

Post by mrlynn »

Installed OpenOffice on fresh install of MacOS 10.14.6. Trying to open, get "Fatal Error: The application cannot be started. An internal error occurred."

What's up (or down) with that?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

This is caused by Apple's Gatekeeper
See[Tutorial] Mac FAQ Q05/A05

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

I used the 'Open Anyway' option in the Mac's Security Settings, and OK'd after the additional warning. So I don't think it was the Gatekeeper.

Any other ideas?

Also posted at https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question ... tal-error/.
Edit: To save others the time of reading it, that discussion found that the trouble was corruption of a MacOS user account, and not related to OpenOffice/LibreOffice.
