Paragraph Numbers in DOCX converted from PDF

Post by jhale356 »

I'm editing a document Originally a PDF converted to docx. Paragraphs were originally numbered 4.1, 5.1 etc based on a major grouping, i.e. Article IV, Article V, etc Numbers in each article were 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc. The format was set in the original document. For whatever reason (operator error) the numbers have gone out of sequence Efforts to repair have been futile.

Thanks

Not possible to preserve the original formatting properties when you do a lot of conversions:
Original document -> PDF -> OOXML (docx) -> opening it in AOO/LO, and editing it as an ODF document.

My tips:
Use the original document, or use the unformatted textual content and then fully reformat the document in ODF format.

Always use the ODF file formats with the AOO/LO . You will lost some formatting properties when you convert your documents into a foreign file format.
