[Solved] SpellCheck

Post by Newfan »

I have Open Office 4.1.7 on Windows 10. On all previous versions OpenOffice I have installed I have never had a problem with spellcheck. However if I attempt to spell check an existing document and press the spellcheck (Spelling and Grammar) button it will highlight every word in my document one by one as they are incorrect but it will offer no alternative or suggestion. if I press the Auto Spellcheck button it will the place a wavy red line under every word not matter whether they are correct or not. Do I have to download a dictionary (something which I have never done in all previous installed versions of OpenOffice)?

It was an "update", or you made a clean installation for the AOO 4.1.7? Had you deleted the old User profile of the AOO before the installation?

Try to rename/delete the user profile of the AOO 4.1.7.
And install the language tools properly.

If it will not help, then install the LibreOffice.

Please, edit the initial post in the topic: add the word [Solved] at the beginning of the subject line - if your problem has been solved.
