How to Build a Form....

My form option is blurred out. Thinking back to microsoft access I thought a form could be built from either a table and/or a query. Being new to this Open office....am I missing a HUGE step somewhere. I've tried creating both and to my dismay....neither one seems to open up the option to allow me to create a form.....nor a report for that matter. I can click on them on the left hand side of the screen BUT to build anything they are faded out and not able to click on.

You installed the office without Writer component?

installed everything....didn't want to leave anything behind

just tried the install again. I'm having another co-worker install on his computer right now to see if he gets the same thing
