No way to change Program.
I not said that "you need change the office suite".
You can try the portable versions without any problem. Just unpack and copy the files from the zip archive to the target program directory - you can choose where it will be - without any "regular installation" procedure. The portable version of the LO will not uninstall, delete, destroy or modify the permanetly installed AOO or LO versions (nor its settings). You can use it paralell with the permanently installed version/s/.

As you can see in my signature: as a helper in this forum, I am using paralell many portable versions in my Win7 and Win10 (prof x64). In this way I can try the problematic files with the relevant version of the AOO/LO.

It is a trying only, but not a permanent use. We want to help you.
But you are blocking an opportunity to determine the root of the problem, and to discover a possible solution.
...It is your choice.

Don't be silly. Of course it works.

Here is the package I use with AOO 4.1.6, never had any problem:

I took a fresh install of Xubuntu 18.04.2 on an old (2006!) 64 bit HP DC7600. I installed OO 4.1.6, and checked that it opened correctly.

I then installed, in this order, the Greek dictionary I downloaded from the OO repository site at https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/pr ... yphenation
and the French dictionary from
https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/pr ... ctionaries (the dicollecte dictionary).

Both installed correctly. I updated the English dictionary to the latest, then opened OO.

The English dictionary worked correctly with my language choice (English (UK)), and the French dictionary detected incorrect spellings in some French I typed, after I selected that text and used /Tools/Language to define it as French - I would normally use a dedicated Paragraph or Character style for text in aother language, where the language was defined as part of the style.

I could not check the Greek dictionary, as I don't know any Greek, not even to spell it incorrectly, but I assume it was also working, as it installed correctly.

Some sources say
During extension installation, soffice.bin spawns a uno.bin process with
which it communicates via URP. "Binary URP bridge disposed during call"
mostly means that the other end (i.e., uno.bin in this case) crashed.
So it may be a problem with your python installation. I suggest removing python, then try an install of the French dictionary, then reinstall python. Or possibly, start Windows in Safe Mode and see if the French dictionary will install in that mode.

Another source suggests that something else may be installed, such as (but not exclusively) an automatic login application that is using python.

Dicollette just installed successfully for me and works. Try the following:

1. Temporarily remove all add-ons and extensions
2. Download Dicollette
3. Double-click it.

That being said it is very old: it is v5.3 dated Feb 2015.

The LibreOffice version is more up to date and its latest release is Jan 2017 suggesting that it is no longer being supported for AOO. https://extensions.libreoffice.org/exte ... s-francais

Thanks for the help, all of you guys, but since there is a problem i would not do anything that it could probably damage my other two dictionaries. Too many installations and uninstallations needed, that i am not so fond of. I will keep the current setup and i will keep my mind on new releases. Pitty.

I think the problem is caused by crosstalk from something else installed on your computer - as I wrote before, something that uses Python.

That's easy to solve.

1. Take a copy of the User Profile by copying C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user as C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user_Copy.
2. Experiment to your heart's content. Note how you fixed it.
3. When finished, replace C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user with the one you copied. You will be back to where you were before Step 1.
4. Repeat what you did to fix it.

IF you want to start experimenting with a "clean" installation

1. Stop AOO. Rename the User Profile C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user to C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user_OLD.
2. Start AOO. You will be asked for your name. This creates a new User Profile. Experiment to your heart's content. Note how you fixed it.
3. When finished, replace C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user with user_OLD. You will be back to where you were before Step 1.
4. Repeat what you did to fix it.

My French dictionary is installed in C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages\sv1jo5g9.tmp_\lo-oo-ressources-linguistiques-fr-v5.3.oxt\dictionaries.

Googling with "Binary URP bridge disposed during call" got lots of hits related to LO / AOO.
