Switching to Design view

having used MS Access, I thought i would try openoffice out to see if i could save money as it came with my new laptop!
Trouble is i can't even switch forms or tables into design mode after creating them. everything is ghosted out. Can anybody please help?

Hi Rusty,

To switch your form into design mode first close it down (if you have it open). From the GUI window right click on the form you wish to work on and select "Edit". The form should launch in design mode.

Make sure you have the "Form Desigm" toolbar showing, as this has a button on it that looks like a drawing set square for toddling design mode on and off.

If you initially opened your form by double clicking it in the GUI, you can not get in and out of design mode using this button. It is done this way so that the "end user" of the form does not find themselves in design mode by accident.

A table is put into design mode by right clicking on it in the GUI and choosing "edit" as well.
