Hello community, are there already informations available about:
- How to upgrade from OpenOffice 2.4.1 towards the new 3.x Version?
I am using 2.4.1, but as as the 3.x Final is available i want to upgrade to the newer version. But i have no clue how to make this. Do i have to uninstall 2.4.1 first? What is with my "personal dictionaries" (my individial checking data files for German language, since the standard is limited to a few words :/ )
Thx for feedback!
Update from 2.4.1 to new 3.x?

Usually best thing to unistall older and install new version.
All personal settings remain in your computer under personal folder /.openoffice.org2, or in win c:/Documents and settings/<user>/Application Data/openoffice.org2/
OOo 3.0.0 has an option to include all personal settings from earlier version of OOo.
3.0.0 will use new version of dictionaries.

As the 3.0 is a new branch, it can run in parallel with your 2.# version.
For the spell checking (I'm not talking about the user-defined dictionaries but the language files), a new management has been implemented and you need to adapt an existing extension (the new format for dictionaries) to your custom files. See here for example: [Solved] OOo 3.0 Beta 2 dictionaries management.
