I'm havimg trouble exporting html docs.

Do you mean you can't open it in Internet Explorer?

Are you seeing any error messages?
Are these new files you're creating, or are you editing existing files, or both?

kilroy, I've noticed that you have posted this question multiple times in various forums. Multiple posts are not allowed. I'll go clear out the others and let's just follow this one for your solution.

When i export the document it doesn't show the doc as an explorer doc it shows it as an unattached file when I open it in explorer I just see the code for it but the doc won't open. The docs that i've tried are new docs

In the export dialog, is the checkbox "Automatic file name extension" selected? (It's below the File Format box.)

Based on the little information we're going on here, and please let me know if I misunderstood, I think you're expecting an Internet Explorer icon to appear on XHTML files, but it isn't there, and Windows isn't using Internet Explorer to open the file..... but that's the action you want it to take by default. That means the XHTML file type is not associated to Internet Explorer, and if you create the file association, your problem will be fixed.

I don't remember Win2K all that well... but I think you can right-click on an XHTML file and choose "Open with", select Internet Explorer, and make sure the "always use this program to open this type of file" box it checked.

I have windows Xp and before I installed Oo 2.4 it would exprt the doc as an E extension doc that did open in explorer. The previous version I was using was 2.3 . When I uninstalle 2.4 and reinstalled 2.3 it still didn't work. If setting up the extension again you think will work lets try it . and by the way yhanks for you reply. I also have other question on other things maybe you can help with. I tried opening the doc that way and when explorer opens all I see is code.

I tried one of my elier html docs that worked fine before and now the jpeg in the doc are gone could the problem be in my E browser and if so any sug. on how to fix....................

I learned that there is a difference between html and xhtml and my browser does'nt open xhtml if I go to send html the doc will open. what does xhtml open with.

I'm not sure what (or even if) Writer's xhtml output is useful for. I suggest that you stick to exporting html unless you have some specific reason to use xhtml.
