Not open, not responding, & always saving delays are eternal
open office takes a lifetime to open, is then not responding, and every few minutes automatically saving. So forget this software unless you are immortal and have an hour to devote to writing a single page.

LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.

Try starting Windows in Safe Mode, then see how Apache OpenOffice performs; if it improves then there is an application - that doesn't run in safe mode - that interferes with AOO.
