Some Unicode characters not working

Post by Veganarchist »

I need to use a lot of Unicode characters for language studies, but some of them are not working in OOo. I can't get any characters with dot diacritics (a little "." bellow the letter), like ṣ, ṃ, ṛ, ṇ, and so forth. I'm running MacOSX (Leopard) and normally just use the "Option" combinations on the keyboard. TextEdit and web browsers let me type these characters, but I can't seem to do it in OOo 2.4.1. Do I have to install an extension or enable something before I can type these?

Possibly this one: Issue 89611: Unable to use option + cmd + space to toggle input method and keyboard layouts.
It's reported as fixed for OOo 3.0 (due in a few weeks). You may want to try the latest developer snapshot to verify that your problem is fixed also.
