[Solved] Failed Update

Post by LuisM »

Hello, when I try to update OpenOffice, it says "Update Failed", is this because of a setting? I am connected to the internet (obviously lol) and I don't see why it's not working, if this is an obvious fix then feel free to tell me. But could you tell me how to fix this? Or does it just mean there's no updates?
Please note: This is not whilst installing for an update, it's whilst checking for an update.

Hello, LuisM.

If you use the Search tool (top right corner of the forum window) you'll find this question has been asked a few times. Basically, the answer is that the feature doesn't always work correctly in 2.4.1, which is the most recent version so updating will accomplish nothing. I'd disable the "check for updates" entirely until the next release, 3.0, comes out in a few weeks.

Go to Tools> Options> OpenOffice.org> Online Update to disable the check.
Cheers!
