Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and say hello to everyone!
I'm using OpenOffice 4 on my new MacOs Sierra 10.12.
When I change to full screen (CTRL+Shift+J) shortcuts won't work.
Neither CTRL+A, CTRL+V,CTRL+X, CTRL+Z or CTRL+Shift+J (to return to normal screen) work.
That is very strange.
Any ideas?
Many thanks!
Best wishes

I do not see that problem with my Open Office system. Our versions differ (I use OOo 3.2) but I do not recall any others reporting this behavior. Try a different account on your Mac. ← Read details. I realize your symptoms are different than what's in that post, but the solution might be the same.soezkan wrote:When I change to full screen (CTRL+Shift+J) shortcuts won't work. Sierra is fairly new. See [Solved] OpenOffice crashes on Mac OS Sierra if needed.soezkan wrote:I'm using OpenOffice 4 on my new MacOs Sierra 10.12.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Re: Full Screen Mode: keyboard shortcuts seem inactive
Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
I tried:
1. Creating new user account on my MacOS Sierra 10.12: same issue.
2. Re-Installed all MacOS Sierra from Scratch, including previous HD formating. Then re-installed OO 4.1.3: same issue.
3. Installed OO 3: same issue.
It is always the same: it seems somehow the keyboard layout switches to something different, but some keys remain, others are suddenly inactive.
(for example: CTRL+1 for header-size-1 works, same for the other header sizes.)
For example: I got "normal screen view" and hit CTRL+Shift+J , then OO switches to "full screen mode" - alright.
But if I want to go back, as already mentioned, CTRL+Shift+J will not close "full screen mode".
What I found: when I hit "ESC", "full screen mode" closed and I got back to the "normal screen view".
Seems there is an issue with keyboard layout in "full screen mode". Where can I change that?
Many many thanks for further help!

Re: Full Screen Mode: keyboard shortcuts seem inactive
yes, absolutely. But when I'm in full screen, there is no way to use keyboard-shortcuts like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+A, including Ctrl+Shift+J, and others ... they're simply not active, do not react. When I hit one of the mentioned key-combinations: nothing happens - dead ...
Any experience with that?

Thank you.

Re: Full Screen Mode: keyboard shortcuts seem inactive
This is what I wrote in my preivous post!
I saw you use Libre Office. I wasn't able to install it on my MacOS Sierra 10.
I'm truely desperate. It has to be an issue with Sierra and OO 4.1.3, as I read of others, they can't even open OO 4.1.3 on Sierra.I tried:
1. Creating new user account on my MacOS Sierra 10.12, opened OO 4.1.3: same issue.
2. Re-Installed all MacOS Sierra from Scratch, including previous HD formating. Then re-installed OO 4.1.3: same issue.![]()
3. Installed OO 3: same issue.

Re: Full Screen Mode: keyboard shortcuts seem inactive
Pull your window so it is almost but not quite full-screen, and see if the shortcuts work then.

Re: Full Screen Mode: keyboard shortcuts seem inactive
Thanks.
But: nothing!
Only when I'm in normal view, everything works. Then Ctrl+Shift+J, full screen, resized it to minimum - still: none of the Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+A work.
(but Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3, as mentioned above, for example works in full screen mode ...)
Bummer.
