I tried to attach an extension file (OXT) to a post [1] and was denied because OXT is not an allowed filename extension in this forum. After I had renamed it to a .zip, the attachment was allowed. Am I the only to deem it a bad joke for this forum?

Re: OXT not allowed in attachments?!
I suspect that .oxt is not allowed on the forums as a direct attachment due to the fact that this extension is used for extensions for Open Office, thus it is similar to an executable. Similar to .com, .dll, and .exe (for the extensions that I can think of quickly)
If this is the case, then it is, I suspect, due to the fact that the forum operators do not wish to risk the forum code being altered via the code in the .oxt

Not a bad joke. I had allowed it only for the Macros forum and sub-forums last time. So to avoid any trouble, I've also allowed it for all the main forums, just in case.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE Faye) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.

You can open any kind of office document or extension regardless of the file name extension as long as the content is a document or extension. OpenOffice and LIbreOffice detects that it is a zip archive, then it detects that it is some type of document or extension and handles the content accordingly.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
