Won't save changes

Post by Autoperol »

Hi there ,
My first post here ,so please bear with me.
Problem has arisen on one of my 2 computers [windows 7] . I hit close then click "save changes"! and it then just sits there and windows task manager has to be deployed. If I open it and close without any changes it behaves.
Ideas would be appreciated

Thanks P

Hi and welcome to the forum!

As a first try, you can reset your OpenOffice user profile.
If this doesn't help, check that there is no security application that could interfere.
Did it use to work before?

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the edit button if your issue has been fixed.

Hi
thanks for the response , but I did the user rename and still no joy.
I don't see how my virus can interfere I'm using Kaspersky and Malwarebytes on both machines . and my other one is fine. The problem only showed up today when I opened my comp after being away for 3 weeks.
There have been a cluster of windows updates. could that be the problem?

Hi tried
System restore - failed to restore so that option is out. Paused Kaspesky and Malwarebytes and tried to save changes -no joy either. So something is amiss.

Could be.
After all of the updates have been installed, restart your machine, even if Windows doesn't consider it to be a requirement.

Hi again,
I removed EVERY update from the past month and still no joy. I did manage to sync across another folder from my other computer and that works fine.
I'm finding that something about the sharing is the cause, since that is the only change that I have done recently.. I cannot untick the share option and have it stay. When I go back into share ,it is already ticked again.
Ideas ,please?
