[Solved] Resolved/Mail merge

Post by DaketheSnake1 »

Hello All,

I'm still trying to learn to use the Apache OpenOffice Mail Merge. I never realized it could be so difficult. I had no problem with Microsoft Office but I can no longer afford it.

How do I use it for envelopes? I do not create form letters because I dislike receiving them. All I want to do is to enter my return address, save it, then later just enter the addressee's address, stick an envelope in the printer and print it. Sounds real simple.

Can someone please help?

Thanks Very Much.

This old blog post http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/envelopes/ is still relevant to your situation. Scroll down to July 24, 2009 and the following entry Nov. 10, 2008. For more mail merge help this old but excellent article is very helpful http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/art ... office_org.

I don't know why but when I post a question/discussion on this website, at the bottom of the post it shows my OS as Windows 7 64 bit.
I have not used that in quite a while. I now use Windows 10 64 bit. I tried to edit this in my profile but found no way to do it.

And what is your problem? You don't need any mail merge. All you need is a template with the right paper size, a frame with your address and another frame for the other address.
menu:Insert>Envelope...
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
