Writer automatic formatting

Post by wmmpayne »

Using Writer to do invoices/quotations. Had been using MS Office and converted all .docs, etc. to .odt, etc. Virtually no problems until the 2.3 upgrade. I'm using tables in an invoice format. In one field I have been using a 10/5 number format. Now whenever I enter this it defaults to a date format. I've tried cut & pasting from old invoices and it converts the old data to the date format. I'm sure there Is a formatting command that I'm just overlooking, but I can't find it.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Toshiba P205S6267 running Windows Vista Home Premium purchased in April. Converted to Open Office immediately after purchasing.

You mean your invoices are laid out in tables?

What is a 10/5 number format?
By "field" do you mean "table cell" or are you referring to a form field or user field?
Cheers!

Check the file I uploaded off an old invoice. It would be a table cell.

It looks fine to me on WinXP... I see 10/5 there, and 10/5 when I delete and re-type it in.

Try entering that same format in other parts of the document; this cell appears to be the only location where you have a number in that format, which just happens to be in a table cell, but my bet is that it's a higher level setting than that.
Cheers!

+1.
No problem with the file. Can change 10/5 to 11/2 without any formatting change.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.
