Trouble with 2.4 to 2.4.1 upgrade

Post by Zobmie »

Okay, so starting Open Office the other day I noticed Update Available icon. So I clicked on it and was told that I had version 2.4 installed and could upgrade to 2.4.1. So I did, downloading "OOo_2.4.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US" and running through the install process. I noticed however that the temp folder that was created was named "OpenOffice.org 2.4 (en-US) Installation Files". I thought it was odd that it was titled 2.4 and not the aforementioned 2.4.1, but I continued with installation. But having installed the "new" version, Open Office still pops up that update icon and tells me I'm running version 2.4.

Any thoughts here?

Cheers!

Menu:Help>About...
shows a graphic with "OpenOffice.org 2.4" and the full version string below is "OpenOffice.org 2.4.1"

So, yes indeed I the Help>About graphic says I'm running 2.4.1. But the program doesn't realize this and still tells me that I have 2.4 installed and that I should download 2.4.1 (via the download icon in the upper right corner). Can I make that go away?

Cheers!

I have the same problem.
I have downloaded and installed "OOo_2.4.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US" and running through the install process. I noticed however that the temp folder that was created was named "OpenOffice.org 2.4 (en-US) Installation Files". Does anyone have any ideas?

Whoops !!!!!
Forgot to say that one starting any of the applications it still tells me that 2.4.1 is available and do I want to download it.
I have tried just installing (without uninstaling the previous version 2.4.0) also removing 2.4.0 with the uninstaler and the installing from new again, but, get the same results

See last comments, that should do the trick: keeps prompting "OOo update available".
