OO keeps forcing me to register

Post by reddirtgirl »

I've had Open Office on a previous PC, and once it was installed, it worked perfectly.

With this install, every time I click on a link or whatever to open OO, the box appears asking me to register. It takes 4 or 5 clicks to finally get my document open. It's driving me bonkers. I feel like uninstalling and reinstalling, but a 300MB download takes a while.

What's the fix for this aggravation?

Thanks

When asked to register, can you select the option "I have already registered" on one of the window that appears? It should stop asking for registration, but unfortunately I cannot test this because I cannot reproduce the behavior.

Yes, I've checked "I have already registered" every single time, and still it goes thru its' spiel again every time I open the program.

1. Are you using OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 or later?
2. Try the procedure to reset the OpenOffice.org application user profile. Does that help?

I am trying to suppress the welcome and registration dialogs.
Does anyone have setup.xcu that works for 2.4.1? I had one working for 2.4...
