When choosing "Save AS", I'd like it to insert a suggested file name automatically, like in Word. Is that possible? I've searched may places but can't find an answer. Thank You.

Re: automatic insertion of file name when "saving as"
When I use File > Save As, OOo supplies the current document file name in the File Name field. Is that what you're referring to?
Or do you mean when the document has never been saved under any name before? Do you want OOo to make up a name from the document content, as Word does?
If that's what you're after, see Issue 22561: Set heading of document as file name and title
