Embedding sound files?

Post by jorx »

Hi, I hope the subject line pretty much says it.

I'm helping out my little sister with her online schooling- and rather then purchasing Microsoft office, we've been using Open Office so far with great success.

However we've come to a point that has me stumped. How does one go about actually embedding a sound file into a document? (preferably Microsoft .doc)
It's required by her school, and whereas you can insert sound files (.wavs) into the text document- upon saving and reloading, the file no longer loads; also it is not embedded in the file.
(The text file size is still 70kb, it should be 5 megabytes with the sound file)

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Please always provide your OS version and the version of OOo you're using.

Please describe exactly the steps you took. This is another thing you should always do when asking a question about a problem you're having. It helps in several ways, mainly so other forum members might be able to see right away whether there's an error or misunderstanding in the method used, but also so they don't waste time suggesting something you already tried and so they can follow the same steps to try to duplicate the problem.
Cheers!
