Hi,
Can someone tell me if this is a bug, or if I am doing something wrong.
In a Writer document I have created a table, and set the outer border to 6pt double layer (you know the one, that makes it look sort of like a picture frame)
I save the document, but when I open it again the border has resorted to being 0.5pt thick, without the double layering.
Please help - thanks.
Adam.

Re: Retaining Border Thickness
Are you saving it as DOC or as ODT?
It seems that DOC format does not support the picture frame lines, so you end up with a double thick border instead.
BTW Please add your OS and Oo version number to your signature to save people asking. See the User Control Panel.

Saved as .odt, and opened as .odt.
To be honest I have never noticed this issue until today, although I have often added borders round my tables.

The DOC format does support the picture frame lines. Writer actually imports these lines from DOC format, but maps them incorrectly when exporting to DOC format. See the bug report:Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Are you saving it as DOC or as ODT?

WW8: paragraph borders should be exported in the same format they are imported

Re: Retaining Border Thickness
My question is akin to this issue and I don't think it is being addressed.
When I have a table with some contents in the cell. If I select the Table Properties and change the border the spacing between the words and the border changes. Any ideas

Re: Retaining Border Thickness
It seems that the spacing to the text is measured from the centreline of the border, so if you increase the border from 1pt to 5pt then you will need to increase the spacing to text by 2 points, about 0.042" Since this can be done quite easily from the same dialogue when changing the border, it is unlikely that this issue will be addressed. You could search Bugs and Issues to see if it has been reported, but my advice is to adjust it manually and get on with your work.
