File Format Error

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.

Open Office 2.4
MS Windows XPpro SP2
Trying to open a file I get:
"File Format Error found at 1186, 7(row, col)."
How can I open this document??

Good news: you can recover your file without losing quite anything.
Bad news: you'll have to do it that way: [Hint] How did I fix my ODT file (applies for Windows also).
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.
