OO2.4 wont shut down normally in mac

i actually have 3 questions, i am running OOo2.4 on a MacBook with OSX10.5.2. i have OOo set to open on start up

First problem, the X11 batch window, Xterm doesn't close automatically, is that a concern?
second problem, clicking on the OOo icon in the tray won't bring up OOo. i can bring it up by dragging a file to the icon.
third problem, most times OOo won't shut down normally and i have to use force quit to close it.

other than that i love OOo2.4 and really appreciate the folks who are putting in all this time to make it possible!

Not a problem as such, you can even close this window if you want to. There is a method for not having it open at all in the first place, which involves editing a hidden file called .xinitrc in your user directory.

This appears to be normal behaviour for the X11 version.

third problem, most times OOo won't shut down normally and i have to use force quit to close it.

I don't have this problem on my Tiger Mac OSX, but I have heard of it. There doesn't appear to be an easy solution, other than the one you have indicated or by killing the soffice process in a terminal window (or using the graphical ad hoc utility in the Applications/Utilities folder).
