OOo will not print

I installed OOo 2.3 on my new Mac running Leopard and it worked fine. Well, when I open OOo I it opens an odd little window with a few symbols in it (bash-3.2$) that does nothing, so I close it. Then another window opens and says "Command timed out". I press 'OK' and the application opens up. The version I had on Windows XP worked great and I never had anything like that happen. Anyway, OOo works, but it refuses to print. It did print in the begining (January - April). Then, when I had to print out an assignment for class, it refused to print. It goes through the motions, and if I open up the printer window the job appears for a split second before it dissapears and never prints. The printer is and Epson Stylus Photo RX580 and it printed using a version of OOo on Windows XP. None of the apps will print (writer, spreadsheet, etc). I uninstalled OOo 2.3 and installed 2.4 and the same thing happens. I want to use this software because I really like it, even though most other people use Word. But if I can't get it to print, I really don't have a choice. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? Thanks.

You're several to have that kind of issue, perhaps NeoOffice could do better?

NB: moved your thread to the Mac forum.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.

A better idea is to use OO.o Beta. It supports native Mac printing now.

Maybe it does, but it still doesn't work properly with all printers as I have found out to my cost. I, for example, can not print properly to my Samsung CLP 300 networked color laserjet printer from the Aqua beta, all of the text in my Writer documents gets overlaid and is consequently a right mess. NeoOffice may be a version number behind, but at least it does print properly.
