Any one had same problems as I have?
Dutifully downloaded 2.3 & installed - no problems with install - as usual
Opened 2.3 (Swriter) and immediately CPU up to 100% and everything moving in slo-mo
Imported Powerpoint file (70 slides, 150+ pics plus 1 music track). Impress failed to import several pics, poor quality in most others (degraded), music in hyperspace and so slow. Too slow to be usable. Reverted to Powerpoint with minimal speed problems
2.3 in general seems on my machine to be unusable (Dell Dimension 8250, P4, 2.53 GHz, 512Mb RAM, XP/SP2).
Similar speed probs with Calc, Swriter & Impress - didn't try Base
Uninstalled 2.3, re-installed 2.2 and hey Presto! things are sweet again
Any ideas?

Re: v2.3 speed versus other versions
Yes. 2.3 has a number of nice features and enhancements, but it has major performance issues. Hopefully 2.3.1 will fix most of them.

Re: v2.3 speed versus other versions [SOLVED - sort of]
Ta - at least I know it wasn't me or my machine and it's being addressed (hopefully)

Re: v2.3 speed versus other versions
I see there's a new version out & about. Anyone know if this fixes the performance issues with 2.3.0?
I'm running with 2.2 and it's not bad (not as quick & 'normal' as Office but...) so I'm reluctant to download and install an update to OO if I'm going to have to uninstall and revert again. Over to you lot...

Re: v2.3 speed versus other versions
The new version fixes the worst performance problem I've encountered in 2.3: formula OLE objects. There have also been some other bugs fixed, and (I believe) one security fix, so I would say it would be worth some time to try the upgrade. Still, if 2.2 is working well for you, then why give it up?
